Ignite Technology and Innovation is excited to be receiving the Chicago Community Loan Fund 2021 Fannie Lou Hamer Award in the Social Enterprise category.
The award is intended to recognize individuals and the organization that they represent who are based in challenged communities and have done work to improve the quality of life in their community in a multifaceted way. A $5000 prize accompanies the award.
This award was named after the tenacious civil rights leader Fannie Lou Hamer (1917-1977). Mrs. Hamer was considered by some to be the soul of the civil rights movement for justice in Mississippi. Mrs Hamer championed the importance of diverse leadership-that each individuals involvement made the movement stronger. CCLF also believes that Ignites project has sparked positive neighborhood change.
The award will be presented during CCLF’s 30th Anniversary Celebration taking place virtually, Thursday, October 28th 2021.
